Bryngarw Country Park takes centre stage for outdoor theatre this summer

Bryngarw Country Park takes centre stage for four outdoor theatre productions this summer.

The season starts with Immersion Theatre’s production of Alice in Wonderland at 6:00pm on Wednesday 24th July. Audiences can follow Alice and the White rabbit as they set off on a colourful, topsy-turvy adventure like no other and meet a host of outlandish characters along the way including the troublesome twins, the notorious Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire cat and of course, the Mad-as a bat-Hatter!

On Wednesday 31st July at 7:00pm, Immersion theatre will return to Bryngarw with their adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream – the most magical and romantic comedy of them all, telling the tale of peace and prosperity for all the family to enjoy.

Following last year’s successful performance of ‘The Midnight Gang’, Heartbreak Productions will return to the park with their adaption of another David Walliams’ best-selling books. This year they are set to perform Gangsta Granny on 13th August, when Ben and his Granny go on their biggest adventure yet!

On 28th August at 7:00pm, Heartbreak Productions will once again return to the park with Emily Bronte’s classic tale of love and revenge, Wuthering Heights. Betraying her heart, Catherine resigns herself to marry a man of her own class, leading Heathcliff down a vengeful and self-destructive path. His possessive and erratic nature drives him to enact a torturous scheme of revenge on the next generation of Earshaws.

These events will take place outside on our lawn and will go ahead in rain or shine. There are no seats provided in the park, but visitors are welcome to bring low-backed chairs or blankets to sit on. Picnics are welcome, or refreshments can be bought from Cedars Tea Room. Children must be accompanied at all times.

Tickets can be bought via the Bryngarw Country Park website at or via telephone on 01656 815995.
