Bryngarw Country Park to become a hub for ‘My Tree, Our Forest’ initiative

By Sophie, 17th Feb 2023

We are pleased to announce that Bryngarw Country Park is to become a hub for the ‘My Tree, Our Forest’ initiative.

The Welsh Government and Coed Cadw, the Woodland Trust in Wales, are offering thousands of trees to households in Wales, free of charge.

The trees will help tackle the effects of climate change and contribute to the National Forest for Wales.

Our hub will be located outside the Visitor Centre in Bryngarw Country Park and will be open every Tuesday from 2pm until 2.30pm until 31st March 2023.

The trees will be distributed by the Valleys Regional Park Guardians, so come along to collect your free tree and become a part of ‘My Tree, Our Forest’ in Wales.

If you can’t collect a tree from our hub, there are other ways to get involved.

  • The Woodland Trust can plant a tree on your behalf, free of charge. All you have to do is complete an online form and they will take care of the rest.
  • You can have a tree posted to you. There are 40,000 postal trees available on a first come first served basis and you can apply for one using an online form via The Woodland Trust.
