What’s on in Bryngarw this February half-term?

By Sophie, 31st Jan 2023

We have some exciting events and activities happening in Bryngarw Country Park during February half-term.

Louby Lou’s Storytelling Trail

Two people dressed up as pirates, one holding a map and the other holding a telescope.

Argh me hearties! Pull up the anchor and set sail to Bryngarw Country Park. Our stinky pirates need a new crew to help search for their precious treasure, hidden somewhere in the park grounds. Help them find their way around this swashbuckling island but watch out for crocodiles along the way! Shiver your timbers and join them for a fun filled, storytelling adventure.

This event is designed to encourage imaginative play in nature and takes place outdoors, so please make sure you dress for the weather on the day. Our trails head out in all weathers, even in the rain, so please make sure this is taken into consideration before booking.

Visit our Box Office website to find out more and book your tickets.

Birdbox Building at Bryngarw Country Park

A variety of wooden nestboxes

Back by popular demand, join our Rangers this February half term and build your own bird box!

A bird box is a fantastic way to attract birds to your garden, giving them a helping hand by providing them with somewhere to nest, and giving you a special view into the lives of our feathered friends.

This activity is set to take place in our Y Nyth Education Centre on Monday 20th and Wednesday 22nd February.  Slots are scheduled every 10 minutes between 11am to 3pm.  One session equals one birdbox – if you would like siblings or friends to build together, please book consecutive time slots.  Children must be supervised by an adult.  All building materials and tools are provided.

Visit our Box Office website to find out more and book your tickets.

Free fun!

Two children playing in a wooded area

As well as some fun events and activities, there is lots of free fun to be had at Bryngarw Country Park.

Only pay for parking if you are driving to visit us and enjoy the children’s play area, the sculpture trail, the duck pond and lots of woodland, meadows, and trails to explore.

Our rangers have put together some printable spotter sheets including Bird Bingo, Marvellous Minibeasts, Look for Leaves and more, download and print ahead of your visit and see how many different things you can spot!

If the weather isn’t great, pop into our visitor centre to enjoy the discovery area and willow den.
